Ferry passengers ride for free on Saturday, May 22

May 21, 2010

Please be advised that on Saturday, May 22, 2010 passage aboard the St. Johns River Ferry will be free all day in recognition of a cultural festival being celebrated at Mayport Village.

The ferry will run on a normal weekend schedule between 7 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. However, JAXPORT will waive the usual $5 per passenger vehicle fee and any of the other fees for walk-ons, bicycles, motorcycles and larger vehicles.

You may expect some brief delays if traffic in the area becomes heavier than usual due to the festival.

The St. Johns River Ferry connects the north and south ends of Florida State Road A1A, linking Mayport Village and Fort George Island via a pleasant sail across the St. Johns River. The ferry operates every day, including holidays.
