Hanjin signing ceremony set for Dec. 10

December 8, 2008

This week, JAXPORT’s Board of Directors will gather at the Cruise Terminal for their regular monthly meeting followed by an official contract signing ceremony with South Korea-based Hanjin Shipping Company. The agreement calls for construction of a new 90-acre, $300 million container terminal at Dames Point.

Together with the TraPac Container Terminal, the Hanjin development will triple JAXPORT’s capacity to handle containers and will eventually bring the port’s regional economic impact to $6 billion annually.  The new terminals will steadily bring thousands of new direct and indirect jobs to the area and continue Jacksonville’s growth as the transportation and logistics hub of the southeastern United States.

  • Wednesday, Dec. 10
  • General Committee meeting begins at 9 a.m., followed by the December Board Meeting and Signing Ceremony
