Jacksonville City Councilman Dr. Johnny Gaffney and JAXPORT officials, including Board of Directors Chairman James Citrano and Board Member Reginald Gaffney, welcomed a delegation of dignitaries from Haiti this week to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The three year MOU between JAXPORT Interim CEO Roy Schleicher and Alix Celestin, Director General of Autorité Portuaire Nationale (National Port Authority), allows for the sharing of best practices and technical information in areas critical to port progress, including marketing, security and operations. The Autorité Portuaire Nationale oversees the 11 public ports in Haiti.
