JAXPORT recognized by port users for outstanding service

Logistics Management magazine has named the Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) as one of the nation's best port operators based on an extensive survey of port users who cited JAXPORT's outstanding service performance during the past year. Jacksonville is one of just three U.S. Southern ports to receive the 2012 Quest for Quality award based on five categories: ease of doing business, value, ocean carrier network, intermodal network, and equipment and operations.

JAXPORT received the highest score among Southern ports in the ease of doing business category. The port operator categories are divided into Northeast & Mid-Atlantic, Gulf Coast, West Coast, Great Lakes and Southern regions.

Readers of Logistics Management who qualified as buyers of logistics and transportation services were surveyed by Peerless Research Group from January through May of 2012.  Logistics Management uses the survey to determine the best of the best U.S. port operators strictly on the basis of service quality. The magazine also recognizes carriers and third-party logistics service providers.
