Local maritime and transportation clubs plan May events

The Transportation Club of Jacksonville, the local chapter of The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, and The Propeller Club - Port of Jacksonville all are planning events in May, a month that features National Transportation Week as well as Maritime Day.
National Transportation Week is May 15 - May 21, and to prepare for this year's celebration, the Transportation Club of Jacksonville is holding its National Transportation Week Dinner on Tuesday, May 10 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the University Center on the UNF campus. In addition to the festivities, the club will be awarding a scholarship to a student in the UNF Transportation and Logistics Program. Read more about the event at tcjax.org.
The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals is organizing a scholarship luncheon on May 19 aboard the Carnival Fascination at the JAXPORT Cruise Terminal. Visit cscmp.org and scroll down to "Carnival Cruise Tour" to learn how to register.
The Propeller Club – Port of Jacksonville will hold its annual Maritime Day celebration on Friday, May 20. The event honors U.S. merchant sailors; the first Maritime Day celebration was held in 1933. Check propellerclubjax.com for more details.
