Port companies deliver aid to Haiti

January 26, 2010

Trucks line up to deliver water and food rations to JAXPORT’s Blount Island Marine Terminal…

…where the 832nd Transportation Battalion and stevedore SSA Cooper transfer the goods to 20-foot containers, which are easier to transport through Haiti.

The 832nd has already sent more than 1 million individual meals and more than 500,000 bottles of water to Port-au-Prince, in addition to fuel and construction equipment for military personnel there.

Another JAXPORT tenant, Crowley Maritime Corp., is also sending aid to Haiti.
