Search available port jobs on JAXPORTjobs.com

November 19, 2008

More than 2,200 people attended the Talleyrand District Career Fair on Nov. 17, which was organized by Jacksonville City Councilman Dr. Johnny Gaffney and JAXPORT.

If you’re interested in working at a business in the maritime industry, definitely check out JAXPORTjobs.com. It’s a website JAXPORT created to serve as a one-stop-shop for private-sector port jobs in Northeast Florida. About a dozen to a few dozen job openings are listed on the site at any given time, so you should log in at least once per week to review available openings.

While JAXPORT only has 150 employees, every day thousands of people in private business go to work in and around Jacksonville’s port. They work as longshoremen, warehouse workers and truck drivers, or in fields as diverse as law, environmental protection and information technology. Maritime industry private businesses post their openings on JAXPORTjobs.com, so it’s helpful for you to post your resume, and search for and apply to open positions.
