Welcome to the new jaxport.com
May 26, 2011
With fast navigation and a host of dynamic features, the new jaxport.com makes it easier than ever for you to access Jacksonville’s maritime market intelligence. Here is an overview about the site to help you become familiar with our new home page:
Home page - navigation and news
Navigation to the major sections of jaxport.com, which include Cruise/Ferry, Cargo, and About JAXPORT, has been moved to the top of the page. At the top right of the page, you'll notice three "Text Size" links. Clicking one of these will change the size of the text to make the site easier to read. At the top left of the page, you can see a search bar - if you ever need to find information immediately, searching for it is your best option, as the new site sports a powerful search function.
In the left-hand column, underneath the search bar, we include a couple of quick contact phone numbers, as well as a list of the most recent news stories. The slideshow items offer featured stories and news items, ensuring you receive the most up-to-date information when you first visit jaxport.com.
Home page - calendar and quick links
In the middle of the home page, the left column features a JAXPORT calendar. This calendar will include public meeting notices, port events and industry happenings in which JAXPORT is playing a role. To the right of the calendar, you'll see the redesigned Quick Links, which include the most frequently requested pages on jaxport.com. You can click on a tab to access Quick Links to each major section of the website.
Home page - notices and home page features
The information presented in the left column includes upcoming meeting notices and port events - you'll be able to click those for more information. The boxes to the right offer links to frequently requested information about security and port jobs.
Home page - site map / bottom of page
In the blue bar at the bottom of the page, you'll find links to our major social media networks. In addition, a site map to all major pages on the site is included at the bottom of each page, once again ensuring that the information you seek is no more than one or two clicks away.
Many thanks to Robin Shepherd Studios, who designed the new jaxport.com in coordination with staff at the Jacksonville Port Authority. If you have questions about the website, please send us email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
