Strategically located at the southeastern corner of the United States, Jacksonville, Florida offers the best intermodal connections in the South Atlantic. More than 50 million consumers are within an eight-hour truck drive of all three JAXPORT marine terminals, each of which is minutes from an Interstate highway. More than 100 trucking and drayage firms operate in and around Jacksonville's port to take advantage of Jacksonville's highway system.
JAXPORT terminals are also serviced by two Class I railroads, including Jacksonville-based CSX Transportation (CSXT) and Norfolk Southern (NS), as well as one regional railroad, Florida East Coast (FEC).
- CSXT provides port customers with access to its 22,000-mile route network that reaches 23 states, the District of Columbia and two Canadian provinces - Ontario and Quebec.
- Norfolk Southern operates 21,300 route miles in 22 Eastern states and Canada, connecting port customers throughout their rail network;
- Florida East Coast Railway offers 10 daily departures servicing locations from Jacksonville to Miami.
CSX provides on-dock rail at the Blount Island Marine Terminal. The Talleyrand Marine Terminal has on-dock rail facilities run by Talleyrand Terminal Railroad, Inc., which provides direct switching for Norfolk Southern and CSX. The terminal is also only minutes from FEC's intermodal ramp.
To move your cargo faster on the terminal, JAXPORT continues to modernize its equipment. At its Talleyrand terminal, JAXPORT offers two 95-foot wide Rubber Tired Gantry Cranes (RTGs) and four on-dock railroad spurs totaling 4,800 linear feet.
