Export University 101: Introduction to Exporting 

  • “Made in USA” commands a premium on international markets
  • “Made in USA” products and services are in high demand overseas
  • 85% of the World’s purchasing power is outside the USA
  • 97% of U.S. exporters are small companies (per SBA definition)
  • Companies that export are more profitable, pay better salaries and have less turnover
  • Companies that export can withstand U.S. economic recessions
  • According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, on average, $170,000 in exports supports one job

EXPORT UNIVERSITY is a training program developed by the Florida District Export Council to assist companies who are new to export or want to get back to basics in launching a successful international strategy.  AND for current exporters to review and learn about current tools and resources available for international trade.

Course goals include:

  1. evaluating export readiness
  2. developing an export marketing plan
  3. how to ensure that you get paid (financial risk mitigation)
  4. international logistics (shipping)
  5. understanding other risk mitigation tools for international business
