The fire is fully extinguished.

JAXPORT is extremely grateful for the bravery, quick action and dedication of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department (JFRD), the leadership of the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville, and all of the partner agencies and specialty crews who have worked around the clock to safely extinguish the Höegh Xiamen fire. Their timely response and expertise enabled the vessel to remain intact, safeguarding lives while protecting the environment.

We ask the community to join us in continuing to pray for the injured firefighters and their families as they begin the healing process.

We are working closely with the U.S. Coast Guard, federal investigators and other agencies as they look into the cause of the fire and the options for safely salvaging the vessel.

The vessel, Höegh Xiamen, is owned by Höegh Autoliners and during the time of the incident was being operated via charter by Grimaldi Group. Read Höegh’s latest statement here.
