Board of Directors

JAXPORT has an unpaid seven-member Board of Directors which provides policy guidance for the Authority.

Four members are appointed by the Mayor of Jacksonville and three members are appointed by the Governor of Florida. Members serve four-year terms and may be appointed to one additional term. To contact Jacksonville Port Authority Board Members, please email or call (904) 357-3036.

Wendy Hamilton

Chair
President, Eventide Investments of Florida, Inc.

Wendy Hamilton

Wendy Hamilton is a Certified Financial Planner and currently serves as President of Eventide Investments of Florida, Inc. Hamilton has more than 25 years of financial service and asset management experience and specializes in managing multi-manager and multi-generational portfolios. She actively participates in numerous community service initiatives, including the Women’s Giving Alliance, and is a former board member of both The Bolles School and the YWCA/Community Connections. Hamilton was appointed to the JAXPORT Board of Directors in April 2018 for a four-year term.

 


 

J. Palmer Clarkson

J. Palmer Clarkson

J. Palmer Clarkson is the founder, President and CEO of Bridgestone HosePower, LLC, the largest U.S.-based service provider of hydraulic and industrial hoses used in construction machinery, mining, oil field equipment and factories. He also serves on the company’s Board of Directors. Clarkson has more than 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur, business builder and senior leader with skills in negotiation, mergers and acquisitions, financial and operational management and business plan analysis. Clarkson also serves on the boards of several other large companies. He was appointed to the JAXPORT Board of Directors in March 2018 for a four-year term.

 


 

Daniel Bean

Daniel Bean

Daniel Bean is an attorney and partner at Abel Bean Law, P.A, ranked one of the nation’s top law firms by U.S. News and World Report. He previously served as executive partner of the Jacksonville office of Holland & Knight. A retired U.S. Navy captain and Legion of Merit recipient, Bean served as a surface warfare officer and judge advocate for 25 years. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and received his juris doctorate from the University of San Diego School of Law. Bean currently serves as board chairman of K9s for Warriors, treasurer for the Five Star Veterans Center and is former board chairman of WJCT, the public broadcasting station in Jacksonville. Bean was appointed to JAXPORT’s Board of Directors in 2019 for a four-year term.


 

Brad Talbert

Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry has appointed Memorial Hospital President and CEO Bradley S. Talbert, FACHE to JAXPORT’s Board of Directors. Talbert’s appointment was unanimously approved by the Jacksonville City Council on April 13.

An experienced healthcare executive and civic leader, Talbert has two decades of leadership experience at hospitals throughout the Southeast. Under his leadership, Memorial has earned final Accreditation as a Level 2 Trauma Center and completed more than $36 million in facility expansions. The hospital has also been recognized among the top 5 percent of hospitals in the nation for patient safety for three consecutive years.

Talbert currently serves on the Board of Directors of the JAX Chamber and the Jacksonville Civic Council, and is the 2020 and 2021 Chair for the JAXUSA Partnership. He is also a member of the American Heart Association’s First Coast Heartwalk Executive Cabinet, the University of North Florida Dean’s Council, and serves on the board of the North Florida Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

 


 

Ed Fleming

Ed Fleming

Ed Fleming retired in 2010 as CEO/President of Atlantic Marine, after a 32 year career in the maritime industry. He was a founding board member of the Jacksonville Marine Transportation Exchange and served on the Jacksonville Waterways Commission for eight years, in addition to consulting in the industry. Fleming has long supported the maritime community through his affiliations and has served as president of the Propeller Club, Port of Jacksonville and on the boards of the National Shipbuilding Research Program and First Coast Manufacturers Association. Fleming was named the Propeller Club Maritime Person of the Year in 1998. He was appointed to the JAXPORT Board of Directors in January 2014.

 


 

Jamie Shelton

Jamie Shelton

Jamie Shelton serves as President of bestbet Jacksonville. He joined the organization in 2009 as the Chief Financial Officer. Shelton currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Jacksonville University, is Trustee Chairman and Board Member of the JAX Chamber and is a Trustee and Past Chairman of the Gator Bowl Association. He is also a member of the Jacksonville Civic Council. Mr. Shelton was appointed to JAXPORT’s Board of Directors in August 2016.

 


 

Ceree Harden

Ceree Harden

Ceree Harden is Area Chairman for Harden, an Arthur J. Gallagher company, a leading global insurance broker and employee benefits consulting firm. He oversees the organization’s executive leadership, strategic planning, corporate visualization, and community stewardship. Harden has served on the Board of Directors for numerous business and civic organizations, including FPIC Insurance Group, the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission, the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, and Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. He is also a First Coast Business Hall of Fame inductee, an honorary member of Leadership Jacksonville, and a recipient of the Hope Award, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s highest honor for outstanding civic and community service. Harden was appointed to JAXPORT’s Board in October 2021.
