Oct. 1, 7 a.m. update

JAXPORT is open and operational.


Sept. 30, 5 p.m. update

JAXPORT will reopen Saturday, Oct. 1. Cargo can begin leaving the terminals at 6:30 a.m., and gates open for inbound truck traffic at 7 a.m.


Sept. 30, 11:30 a.m. update

JAXPORT remains closed (Port Condition ZULU) while the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Sector Jacksonville, JAXPORT, and our tenants complete post-storm assessments.

Pending approval from the U.S. Coast Guard, JAXPORT gates will reopen at 6 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1 and cargo can begin leaving the terminals at 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

Tenants: Please check your email for required USCG reopening documentation.

Because JAXPORT tenants establish their operating hours at their gated facilities, drivers seeking to pick-up or drop-off loads are encouraged to contact their terminal operator directly to confirm their specific hours of operation.


Sept. 30, 8 a.m. update

JAXPORT remains closed (Port Condition ZULU) while the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville completes its post-storm assessment of the Port of Jacksonville’s waterways.

JAXPORT remains under Port Condition ZULU. The port is closed to all traffic.

Sept. 28, 11:30 a.m. update

The U.S. Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville Captain of the Port has set Hurricane Port Condition ZULU for the Port of Jacksonville effective at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 28. JAXPORT is closed to all traffic.

The port will remain closed until after Ian passes and the Coast Guard determines it is safe to reopen.

Cruise update: The return of the Carnival Elation sailing that departed Sept. 24 has been delayed until after the storm passes. The sailing scheduled to depart on Sept. 29 has been cancelled. Updates available on Carnival’s website: https://bit.ly/3UKTJsF

Sept. 28, 2022, 9 a.m. update

Beginning at 10 a.m. this morning, JAXPORT tenants will begin restricting cargo deliveries and inbound truck traffic to essential traffic only.

JAXPORT is at Hurricane Port Condition YANKEE (open with restrictions) and U.S. Coast Guard will set Port Condition ZULU (closed) at noon on Sept. 28.

Sept. 27, 2022, 11 a.m.

The U.S. Coast Guard Captain of the Port for Sector Jacksonville will set Hurricane Port Condition YANKEE for the Port of Jacksonville effective 12 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28. The port is currently open with restrictions. JAXPORT will enter Port Condition ZULU at noon on Sept. 28.

Under Condition YANKEE, sustained gale force winds associated with tropical cyclone activity are predicted within 24 hours. All vessels attempting to dock at JAXPORT must be pre-approved by JAXPORT and the U.S. Coast Guard. Ship-to-shore cargo operations must be completed 6 hours prior to setting Condition ZULU. All vessels must go out to sea unless they have specific written approval from the Coast Guard Captain of the Port.

Sept. 26, 2022, 5 p.m.

The U.S. Coast Guard Captain of the Port will set Hurricane Port Condition X-RAY for the Port of Jacksonville effective 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27. JAXPORT remains open and operational.

Under X-RAY, oceangoing vessels greater than 500 GT ITC already in port or arriving during Port Condition X-RAY shall continue with preparations and safely depart the port before the setting of Port Condition ZULU.

JAXPORT anticipates condition YANKEE will be set beginning at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, followed by condition ZULU beginning at 8 p.m. Wednesday night.

Sept. 25, 2022, 6 p.m.

The U.S. Coast Guard Captain of the Port has extended Hurricane Port Condition WHISKEY until Monday afternoon, September 26.

JAXPORT remains open and operational with no restrictions.


Sept. 24, 2022, 1 p.m.
The U.S. Coast Guard Captain of the Port will set Hurricane Port Condition WHISKEY for Jacksonville’s harbor as of 8 p.m. Saturday, September 24. Under Condition WHISKEY, sustained gale force winds associated with tropical cyclone activity are predicted within 72 hours. Gale force winds are sustained winds above 39 mph.

JAXPORT remains open and operational with no restrictions.
