Amidst a flurry of leis and excitement today, Carina Alejandro became the two millionth passenger to sail from the JAXPORT Cruise Terminal.

JAXPORT officials along with Carnival Elation Captain Gaetano Gigliotti were on hand to present Alejandro with gifts and a commemorative plaque.

Alejandro, her young son and fiancé are embarking on the Elation where she will receive VIP treatment on her four-day cruise to the Bahamas. The family is from North Carolina and this is their first cruise. The cruise is also serving as a special occasion – her boss is getting married on board.

The JAXPORT Cruise Terminal opened in 2003. It is currently home to the Carnival Elation, a 2,054 passenger vessel that sails year-round out of JAXPORT. The Elation offers four-day cruises to Freeport and Nassau in the Bahamas and five-day voyages to Nassau and Half Moon Cay, Carnival’s private Bahamian Island.
