JAX Chamber recently named Retired U.S. Navy Captain and JAXPORT Board Secretary Daniel K. Bean as the recipient of the 7th Annual RDML Kevin F. Delaney Hall of Fame Award.

Founded in 2014 as the Military Hall of Fame Award, the recognition honors one Veteran each year for their significant contributions to the Jacksonville community.

A retired U.S. Navy Captain and Legion of Merit recipient, Bean served as a Surface Warfare Officer and Judge Advocate for 25 years.

His decorated Naval career and current work as an advocate for area Veterans earned him the recognition.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Bean to JAXPORT’s Board in 2019. Bean also serves as Board Chairman for K9s for Warriors, Treasurer of Five Star Veterans Center, and President of the Jacksonville Historic Naval Ship Association. In addition, he is a personal mentor to a number of Northeast Florida Veterans.

Bean received the award during the JAX Chamber’s Veterans Appreciation Breakfast. The event honors outstanding veterans and retired military personnel in the community.
