Florida Trend has named JAXPORT CEO Eric Green one of the state’s most influential business leaders.

Green is recognized as a transportation industry leader focused on growing the port and its contributions to the state’s economy.

“I am honored by this recognition and extremely proud of everything we’re doing here at JAXPORT to grow the port and create prosperity for our community,” said CEO Green. “The recent successes we have achieved are a direct reflection of the hard work and dedication of a number of people, including our board, employees, tenants, customers and maritime partners.”

Green brought international exposure to Jacksonville earlier this year following the historic agreement with SSA Atlantic to build a $238.7 million state-of-the-art international container terminal at JAXPORT’s Blount Island Marine Terminal. The agreement is an unprecedented public-private partnership to upgrade terminal infrastructure and build the port of the future.

In the past year, Green has continued to attract significant funding toward the federal project to deepen the Jacksonville shipping channel to 47 ft., moving the project two years ahead of schedule, reducing overall costs and allowing the community to utilize the project’s economic benefits sooner.

Under Green’s leadership, JAXPORT has moved a record number of containers and autos during the first three quarters in the port’s fiscal year which began on Oct. 1, 2018, and JAXPORT is on pace to set new container and auto volume records in 2019.
