A Message to Jacksonville’s Maritime Community from
CEO Eric Green

First and foremost, I hope all your colleagues, friends, employees, and any family in Puerto Rico are safe and well following Hurricane Fiona. I know I echo the sentiments of our entire port community when I say JAXPORT stands with the people of the island, and our thoughts and prayers are with the people there following the storm.

While the immediate danger of Fiona seems to have subsided, we know that the island will have a long road to recovery as they work to restore power and manage the damaging effects left behind by flooding.

To support the recovery effort, JAXPORT is partnering with the American Red Cross to launch a fundraising initiative. We invite you to join us in donating to the relief effort by visiting our donation portal on the Red Cross’ website: https://rdcrss.org/3dtXOkl

While we know that many of our partners may have their own relief initiatives planned, we appreciate your consideration if you are looking for a way to help.

I also want to take a moment to thank our Jacksonville-based Puerto Rican ocean carriers and service providers for everything you do every day to support our vital relationship with Puerto Rico.

The island is our longest-running and most significant trading partner, and we appreciate everything you do to provide safe, secure, and efficient maritime trade to the people there.

Thank you, as always, for supporting JAXPORT and the citizens we serve in Puerto Rico.
