JAXPORT will serve as host port for PORTCON 2021, the annual maritime industry conference of the Certified Port Executive Program. This year’s virtual program is May 4-6.

The event attracts experts from port authorities, marine terminal operators, shippers and other supply chain stakeholders from destinations around the globe, including North America, Europe and the Middle East. The goal of the conference is to increase competitiveness in the seaport industry.

“JAXPORT is one of the most diverse ports in the nation, which makes it an ideal backdrop for discussing the issues facing all aspects of the complex seaport industry,” said conference Chair Ralston MacDonnell, M.Eng., P.Eng. “Be it bulk, container, vehicle, passenger, project or any other cargo, you can see it in Jacksonville.”

The conference program includes a variety of themes including leadership, business strategy, training, technology, climate change, cybersecurity, and infrastructure investments. Over 50 speakers from the nation’s leading terminal operators and port authorities – including from JAXPORT – will participate in the three-day program.

“Seaports serve critical roles in our communities, and PORTCON is a venue to share common experiences, explore challenges and opportunities facing the industry and build on our collective impact,” said JAXPORT Director and General Manager of Business Development Robert Peek.
The event is free for management-level employees at marine terminal operators and port authorities.

The conference is supported by a Preferred Partner Program consisting of industry-leading organizations including Burns & McDonnell, Innovative Signal Analysis, BEST Alliance and Jacksonville-headquartered Corrocoat USA.
