During today’s meeting of the JAXPORT Board of Directors, JAXPORT Chairman John Baker recognized Immediate Past Chairman John Falconetti for his eight years of dedicated service to JAXPORT.

Falconetti served for two four-year terms, including two years as Chairman. He was Chairman from 2014 to 2015 and again from 2018 to 2019.

A few highlights achieved under Falconetti’s leadership:

  • JAXPORT made significant progress on the port’s single biggest growth opportunity, the Jacksonville Harbor Deepening project. When Falconetti started his first term as chairman, the project was in its infancy. Construction is now well underway, and two years ahead of schedule—Thanks in large part to Falconetti’s leadership and support.

  • During his second term as chairman, JAXPORT set new container, auto and overall cargo volume records

  • The port was also recognized as the No. 1 port in the nation for customer satisfaction by the readers of a top industry publication

Falconetti is an entrepreneur, businessman and civic leader. He has used his knowledge and experience to advocate for growing the opportunities JAXPORT creates for small businesses in our community. Under his leadership, the port has also implemented green initiatives, including the addition of electric container cranes.

JAXPORT is better because of Falconetti’s expertise, knowledge and leadership.
