A year after acquiring JF Moran, logistics services provider OIA Global is continuing to build on its expanded footprint—leveraging the region’s logistics advantages, including JAXPORT, to support global supply chain operations.

Based in Portland, Oregon, where the company was founded in 1988, OIA Global operates in more than 30 countries, with approximately 1,100 employees across 60 offices.

For more than 85 years, JF Moran was a family-owned, woman-owned business and a trusted leader in customs brokerage (helping companies navigate import/export regulations), logistics, and compliance services. OIA Global acquired the company in April 2025 to strengthen its North American logistics capabilities.

“The recent acquisition of JF Moran by OIA Global will help strengthen our partnership with JAXPORT, as we can now provide additional diversified worldwide logistics services to clients while making use of capabilities and facilities,” said Alberto Maldonado, Strategic Operations Director at OIA Global in Jacksonville.

JAXPORT’s diverse cargo capabilities—handling everything from containers and vehicles to non-containerized freight—complement OIA Global’s ability to move a wide range of goods to and from markets around the world. The port’s location also provides direct access to major highways and rail lines, making it easier to transport cargo efficiently between the port and inland destinations.

“This will be beneficial because customers are now able to ship directly to or from Jacksonville via OIA’s worldwide network, resulting in a more efficient, effective, and economical merchandise delivery,” Maldonado said.

Justin Nichols, Senior Global Marketing Specialist at OIA Global, said the company recognizes the advantages of moving cargo through Jacksonville and how clients benefit from its partnership with JAXPORT.

“The relationship with the terminal operators, trucking companies, and everyone involved with the supply chain is critical for operations,” Nichols said.

Clients shipping through JAXPORT already benefit from the port’s strong rail and interstate connections, which help move freight efficiently inland. With OIA Global’s support, they can also coordinate international and domestic logistics through a worldwide network—streamlining the journey from origin to final destination, Nichols said.

While JF Moran traditionally focused on customs brokerage and freight forwarding (coordinating shipments between shippers and carriers), the company now offers expanded services across the entire supply chain.

“This transition is not a change of direction but the next step in a shared journey,” Nichols said. “The same people you know and trust remain your partners, now with the resources and reach of OIA Global behind them.”

Classic car moves through JAXPORT

A classic car built in 1938 and the only one of its kind, moved through JAXPORT’s Blount Island in December 2025 with the help of OIA Global’s team.

As OIA Global continues integrating JF Moran’s legacy expertise with its global network, the Jacksonville market—and JAXPORT in particular—stands to benefit from enhanced connectivity, expanded services, and a more streamlined path for moving cargo worldwide.

“OIA Global and JF Moran share a long-standing commitment to serving our clients with excellence,” said Betty Robson, former CEO of JF Moran.

The partnership builds on JF Moran’s trusted legacy while unlocking new opportunities through OIA’s global network, she said.

“Together, we’re expanding reach, deepening expertise, and delivering peace of mind with solutions designed to grow alongside our clients’ needs.”
