Jim Butcher joined the JAXPORT team in June 2012 as the U.S. Northeast area representative, overseeing local relationship management and developing business opportunities in the region with ocean carriers, BCOs, Forwarders, NVOCCs, terminal operators and stevedores. He is also responsible for High/Heavy and Ro/Ro sales. Before joining JAXPORT, Jim worked for 38 years with Höegh Autoliners Inc. in many capacities including President (1999-2009).
Jim has served as President and Director of the Maritime Association of the Port of New York and New Jersey, as an Adjunct Professor at SUNY Maritime, and was the recipient of the 2009 Connie Award from the Containerization & Intermodal Institute. He is also a member of the Society of Maritime Arbitrators, NY.
Jim is a graduate of The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and received his MBA from L.I. University.
