- JAXPORT business development expert to speak at US – Indonesia Summit in Jacksonville
JAXPORT Director of Marketing and General Manager of Business Development Robert Peek will be discussing the advantages of moving cargo from Asia through JAXPORT at the U.S. – Indonesia Summit hosted by U.S. Congressman Ted Yoho and Indonesia Ambassador Mahendra Siregar.
The event is Monday, Sept. 30, 2019 at the JAX Chamber office in downtown Jacksonville and will explore opportunities for U.S. companies to do business with Indonesia, Southeast Asia’s largest economy.
JAXPORT offers containerized cargo service to Indonesia via transshipment, moving finished goods and raw materials for some of the world’s biggest names in retail, furniture, food, theme parks and more.
“We are always working to build relationships in growing and emerging markets,” said Peek. “In addition to promoting Northeast Florida’s strategic advantages to shippers, we also help businesses in our region explore opportunities for shipping their goods to destinations, like Indonesia, that have a large consumer base.”
During the visit, Congressman Yoho and Ambassador Siregar will also tour Northeast Florida’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities, as well as see some of JAXPORT’s on-dock LNG fueling capabilities – showcasing the region’s role as a leader in the use of this clean fuel technology. JAXPORT is the only U.S. East Coast port to offer on-dock and near dock LNG fueling. Located on one of the world’s major trade routes, Indonesia has a GDP of more than $1 billion—creating tremendous opportunities for Northeast Florida companies.
The event is free to attend but prior RSVP is required. To register, email Kat.Cammack@mail.house.gov by Sept. 28.
